Our Educators
🌱 At Seedlings, our educators aren’t just teachers — they’re explorers, storytellers, and nature guides! Each one is highly qualified and brings their own unique talents to our community. Most importantly, they love sharing the magic of the outdoors with children — whether that’s discovering a wiggly worm under a log, telling a story by the campfire, or helping build the perfect stick fort.
We’re so proud of the amazing people who make up our Seedlings team, and we can’t wait for you and your child to get to know them. Together, we learn, laugh, and grow every day in the wonder of nature. 🌿

Teacher Carolyn (She/Her) | Director | Teacher | ECE | Lover of Life
My name is Carolyn, and I am delighted to join you as the new Director here at Seedlings. I feel a deep sense of gratitude and joy stepping into this role. To be entrusted with this vibrant community—a place built on love, care, intention, and dedication—is both an immense honor and a dream come true.
Before moving to Canada, I spent ten years living and teaching internationally in Taiwan, Vietnam, and Costa Rica. Through those experiences, my love of community was nurtured, my appreciation for diversity and culture grew, and I gained a lasting understanding of how it truly takes a village to support young people. There is nothing I love more than observing their sense of wonder and how the world is perceived through the eyes of children.
My family is at the heart of all I do. I adore traveling with them, dancing wildly in the kitchen, being unapologetically silly, and walking along the shore or in the forest simply to “see what we can see”. There is something magical about the simple things — the treasures snuck in my pocket by my son and found at the end of the day — that reminds me what truly matters. I find my calm at the place where the ocean meets the shore surrounded by the vastness of the mountains and the embrace of the evergreens- the very trees that, on my first day on the Island, finally put my travel bug to rest.
I look forward to continuing to honor and celebrate all that has been created and all that is to come here at Seedlings!

Teacher Sam (She/Her) | Runs the Show -Early Years Manager | ECE, SNE |Teacher
Hello all! My name is Sam. I am filled with so much excitement and gratitude being welcomed into the seedlings family! I spent most of my life in Ontario - growing up in Toronto and spending every summer in London (Ontario) always surrounded by family. My happiest memories have always been in nature - playing in the snow, jumping in leaf piles, camping adventures, and living a double life as a mermaid. I truly believe the secret to living a full life is to lead with your heart and embrace your inner child. My journey led me to moving to Victoria in 2017; I obtained my early learning diploma with my inclusive care education at Camosun College, and have happily found my place in life as an Early Childhood Educator.
I have always had a passion to support children with diverse abilities or those who have difficulties in life that can present as challenging behaviours. I have found through my experiences that showing up and being there with love and kindness makes the difference. It doesn't take much for me to give love and try to make someone's day brighter - my hope is to be able to share that in this community. I am a firm believer in that all humans, especially children, thrive in nature and we gain so much when we look to nature as a teacher - the lessons that can be learned are boundless. Through nature, my education, and work in the field I have learned so much about myself and the world around me; I am so eager to continue this learning journey and embrace everything that is to come with open arms.

Teacher Rose (She/Her) | Pedagosist | ECE, IT | Teacher
Hello, I’m Rose! Allow me to introduce myself.
In the third grade, I had to create a presentation about what I wanted to do when I grew up. Without hesitation, I said I wanted to work with children, and at a pet store. When I was 11 years old, I began babysitting children in my neighbourhood. Once I moved to BC, I remembered that third-grade dream of working with children, and truly realized my passion for the field of Early Childhood Education. After studying to get my ECEA, I continued my education to receive my ECE and completed my infant/toddler training. Throughout my time in this field, I have learned to be reflective in my practice, focusing on inclusivity and co-creating curriculum with children.
Ever since I was little, I could always be found outside. One of my favourite memories from my childhood in Toronto, Ontario is looking for snails in the warm summer downpours and loving it. In 2020, when I moved out to Victoria with my dog, cat, and partner, I discovered my joy in searching for creatures in the ocean tide pools. Any kind of strange or slimy creature I find will always have a special place in my heart.
Along with my love of the natural world, I have a deep passion for the arts! I grew up in a big family, each member with their own unique and creative gifts, so I was always surrounded by art. I love theatre, playing the ukulele, singing, and dancing, so you will likely hear me making up songs with your little ones throughout the day! I can’t wait to learn and share the joys and curiosities of life with everyone at Seedlings.

Teacher Colley (They/Them) | ECE | Teacher
Hi there, I’m Colley! I’m new to the block here at Seedlings, and to being a children's educator, and I’m ecstatic for my journey that is to come! I’ve always had a huge passion and respect for education growing up and knew I wanted to pursue something in that realm, and something with tiny humans. I have always had an enormous love for the outdoors and wanted to belong somewhere that showed similar values. Ever since I was a tiny human, I’ve always loved exploring the outdoors and seeing what the world had to offer. From exploring my Grandparent’s forest of a property growing up in Muskoka, to exploring tide pools of the Pacific and the creatures of Lake Ontario. I was a thriving human and look forward to seeing kids also thrive in similar environments, being a part of their journey, and being able to teach and show them some of the wonderful things the world has to offer!

In our day to day, each time we step outside, it is an opportunity to breathe the fresh air, admire the rich biodiversity, thank the ancestors who sustained these Lands so that we can benefit from them today, and consider how future generations will benefit from the time, energy and intention we each put into the Land. We each have a responsibility to carry forward these teachings.
