Forest schools are an increasingly popular and diverse way of educating that began over 50 years ago in Scandinavia, and in today's society we hear them called nature or outdoor schools. With a strong emphasis on learning in immersive, outdoor environments, these forest programs are increasingly available to preschool aged children all the way to School Age.
We feel really lucky to be working and learning together on the sovereign lands and seas of the WSÁNEĆ (Saanich), Lkwungen (Songhees), and Xwsepsum (Esquimalt) peoples. |

What some kiddos and parents have to say:
"I like that Ms Laura always found fun adventures for us to do outside. She always had yarn with her to make great crafts”-Riley, 5 years old
"Ms Laura takes our class on forest walks into the trees where we get to play and get dirty. It is my favorite time of the day." - Elle, 5 years old
" When I go to Ms Laura class she lets us play with mud and make mud pies to give to our moms & dads."
- Adrian, 4.5 years old
Ms Laura is a passionate educator whose diverse background and personal thirst for knowledge make for a truly considered and compassionate approach. We have a deep appreciation for how she wonderfully balanced building a kindred connection with our daughter while also fostering in her an appreciation of the external, natural world.
